There's a lot of speculation floating around the internet today so, best to take it all with a grain of salt at this point in time. Despite a claim that The Smiths were in talks with a "well-known" promoter about reuniting, the rumours have been denied by sources much closer to the band and a "highly placed source" in the UK live music industry. Let's just address that before some of us get too excited.

Update: Johnny Marr himself has confirmed the reports are not true...as expected.

Morrissey has announced a one-off show at the Manchester Arena on June 28th. Tickets go on sale this Friday and you can head to the replies to see him performing The Smiths' classic "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" from his Who Put The M In Manchester show, which was filmed at the same venue in 2004.

The Cribs are currently working on their first studio album as a three-piece since 2007's Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever and have a working title of In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull. The band has also been speaking about their last album, Ignore The Ignorant, which they recorded and toured with Johnny Marr (The Smiths) and how natural it feels to be a three-piece again.
From The InterviewI liked the last record and it was a progression, but there was something lost in translation. It was something indefinable but it's back.
