Today marks the 11th anniversary of The Swellers being a band. Drummer Jono Diener wrote about the occasion in his blog. He's also our featured guest on this week's upcoming AbsolutePunk Podcast, so stay tuned for that.
We were never a hype band or blew up, but we’ve been slowly climbing up for years. We’re still very much here. If anything it’s time to take another swing at things. 8 months at home was too much for me. I don’t think I can do that again, or at least not for a while. Maybe we’ve been around a long time but it doesn’t mean we’re close to being done. I think we’re better than ever. We just need someone to listen and fight for us.

In case you've been living under a rock these past few months, The Swellers released a fantastic new EP Running Out Of Places To Go in the fall. The band is also playing the Fusion Show's 5th Anniversary show on Saturday. So in celebration of that, we're collaborating with the band and Born & Bred Clothing to give away a killer prize pack - a handwritten lyric sheet to "Making Waves," the band's new EP Running Out of Places to Go, Born & Bred "B&Beanie," and a Born & Bred "Don't Tread on B&B T-Shirt." Pretty rad, right? So you probably want to know how you can win it. Just post your favorite song from Running Out Of Places To Go and why, and I'll pick a winner by the end of the day....

What happens when a bunch of Michigan punk rockers stay the night in a spooky house while on tour? That's the question Anto Boros (part-time documentarian/full-time bassist for The Swellers) asks when his band and friends spend a night in an unknown place. "Pretty Normal Activity" (featuring members of The Swellers, Into It. Over It. and Broadway Calls) is a film that will have you sleeping with two blankets and wanting to buy the band's latest EP Running Out Of Places To Go (do that here). You can watch the movie in the replies, but - beware! - it'll shake you to your very core!
