We're bringing a new column from The Swellers drummer Jonathan Diener, appropriately titled "Jono Goes To The Movies", where he gives his thoughts and opinions on new (and old) movies. Do you have any movies you'd like him to review? Put your suggestions in the comments.
Hit the replies to read his review of Sacha Baron Cohen's latest film, The Dictator.
The Swellers have left Fueled By Ramen. Check out the band's statement below. You can stream a new song called "Vehicle City Blues" in the replies, which will be on a new 7" featuring two brand-new songs. It will come out via SideOneDummy Records on May 29th. Preorder the 7" here.
As promised, today we are premiering the brand new video from The Swellers. Check the replies for the new video, and if you missed it - check out a write-up about from behind the scenes here. Along with the premiere, we've also got a caption contest going on where you can win: a signed Good For Me CD, Good For Me vinyl, and a Good For Me poster. Grab any of these three stills, add a caption, and post it in the replies. The band will then be voting on their favorite later tonight.
On Monday we're premiering the new video from The Swellers ... you knew that, right? Anyway, we reached out to the band to get a little bit of information about "behind the scenes" and the making of the new video.
On Monday, we'll be premiering the new video for "Inside My Head" from The Swellers at 1pm EST. The band are having a "grab bag" sale as well over at their online store. Who doesn't like a surprise purchase every now and then?
Occasionally we stumble upon something that is frankly too awesome to not post, and today that happened. Head to the replies to watch the best wrestler in the world, CM Punk, work out whilst wearing a Swellers hoodie.
Yesterday I lamented that maybe re-thinking how we support the music we love wasn't such a bad idea. I heard a lot of responses throughout the day; many from bands (one of the more interesting to me was the idea of gift cards for common places a band would visit on tour). With that, Jonathan Diener from The Swellers, was so inspired by the topic and ensuing discussion - that he wrote up a guest blog in response to my post.
In April, The Swellers will tour the UK supporting Deaf Havana and playing the Hit The Deck Fest in Nottingham. Check out the tour dates in the replies, and pre-sale tickets are now available here. Also, the group's latest record, Good For Me, is available for $7.99 on iTunes this week only.
Last night on the last date of the AltPress Tour, members of The Swellers and other bands stole Four Year Strong's encore and played "Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)" before FYS could make it back to the stage. Head to the replies to check out the video, which ends with most of the tour singing along together on stage.
Nick Diener of The Swellers recently contributed vocals to a song called "You're Killing Me," taken from Let It Happen's new record, It Hurts, But It's Worth It. You can listen to the song here and buy the record here.
We generally don't do big movie premieres here on the site, but when this (should be) Golden Globe winner hit our inbox, we had to make like Cannes and snag the premiere ASAP. Featuring only the finest acting skills from members of The Swellers, Every Time I Die and The Damned Things, head to the replies for the premiere of Total Behavior filmed by Swellers' bassist Anto Boros. The premise? "An '80s themed movie about a scientist who plans to crash the moon into NYC until he realizes that his son lives on the moon."
The Swellers are doing a live video chat through Yowie at 8pm EST, they'll be answering your questions, playing songs from the new record with explanations, random videos and talking about absolutely anything they can they can think of right here.
