The 1975 were guests on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning and took part in the "Call or Delete" prank phonecall game. Matty Healy not only prank called Niall Horan and Harry Styles of One Direction but also confirmed that he is writing music for the group (which may add more of an explanation to this photo). Listen to the whole bit in the replies.

Fall Out Boy and The 1975 in the same room together? This is relevant to my interests. Those other guys look like One Direction ... I don't care as much about them.

I worked with AP.net user John Boles (Align in Time), you may have seen him around the site, to post an interview with Matthew Healy from The 1975. It's worth grabbing a beer, tossing on their latest album, and reading straight through.
I kind of became a parody of myself. All of these elements of my personality that Iíve spoken about on the record were being validated by people really liking it, so I was becoming more and more like that, an excuse to be at my most, you know, polarizing and my personality, that was being endorsed by those people, and itís even more like that now. If I wanted to, I could become more and more and more like myself; Iím very aware of that, Iím very aware...

The 1975's upcoming self-titled debut is one of the most anticipated albums of 2013. Jason and I were fortunate enough to get advances of this record a while back and we are both pretty big fans of it (it may potentially top Jason's AOTY list). Fellow staff member Kyle Huntington also had the pleasure to hear the album early and we invited him on as our guest for this week's podcast in which we discuss the album at length. We also get Kyle's UK perspective, since the band originated from and have blown up over there. You can stream The 1975's debut record now and check out the podcast afterwards.

You can subscribe to this podcast in a variety of ways: via iTunes, your own RSS...
