Last night I watched The Felix Culpa's documentary To We, The Nearly Departed. It made me think long and hard about all the bands that have made an impact in my life that were only around for such a short time due to one reason or another. The Felix Culpa played their last show as a band on December 9th, 2011. "To We, The Nearly Departed," the documentary commemorating the band and their final show, can be see here.

Cut Teeth (members of The Felix Culpa, Stay Ahead Of The Weather, Red Knife Lottery, Monday's Hero) will release their digital EP Televandalism on January 31 via BandCamp, in a pay-what-you-want format. Attendees of their first two shows will receive a free hand-packaged, numbered CDR. Dates are in the replies.

The Felix Culpa will be playing their farewell show on December 9 at the Metro in Chicago. Monday's Hero, El Oso, and Sainthood Reps will be the opening acts. You can buy tickets here.

The Felix Culpa seem to have quite a following on our forums, yet they have somehow slipped under the radar and are not promoted constantly like many other bands. Now is the perfect time to change that: the band is finally releasing their highly anticipated sophomore album Sever Your Roots tomorrow, self-funded and label free. That is no easy task to accomplish - recording an album can cost thousands of dollars, but these guys did it and now we have the final product!
