As they have done from time-to-time in the past, The Mountain Goats will be playing some shows out west this summer as a duo, sans drummer Jon Wurster. In his typical outlandish fashion, frontman John Darnielle has dubbed the tour "The Mountain Goats Twin Inhuman Highway Fiends Tour 2014." Dates and a note from Darnielle are below.

The Mountain Goats have announced a run of summer tour dates beginning June 3 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. John Darnielle and Peter Hughes will tour as a duo for the first time since 2007, and all of the shows will be all-ages. The Baptist Generals will open, and a full list of dates are in replies.
Peter and I toured our asses off back in the pre-trio days, but that was before our ascent to the absolute upper echelon of global media saturation. John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats is currently auctioning off an original cassette tape containing "Eugene Sue," an unreleased track dating back to 2001. The proceeds from this auction will be donated to Doctors Without Borders to help with disaster relief in Japan.

The Mountain Goats have released a new song, "Michael Myers Resplendent." The song will be on the new album (most likely), albeit a more produced and less rough version than this one. There will also be a slight lyrical change. The song is about this guy.
