Titus Andronicus' "press conference" last night proved to be frontman Patrick Stickles talking for two hours about his favorite 7" singles and his obsession with the number 7, but there was also some news. The band will launch a series of seven 7" singles, beginning July 7 with a re-release of 2007's "Titus Andronicus" b/w "Fear And Loathing In Mahwah, New Jersey." The band will play a show in Brooklyn to celebrate that, where all attendees will get a free copy of the 2x7" release. The second 7" is due out August 25, and you can hear a new song from that called "Stranded (On My Own)" in the replies, along with the video of the full press conference. The 7" series is available for...

Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus recently told Missoulian that the bands next album will be a 30 song rock opera and will include film accompaniment. The epic is inspired in part by The Birth of Tragedy and is the follow-up to last year's Local Business. You can pre-order the untitled record over a year in advance.

In a plot twist that surprises no one, I have forgotten to post the last two updates to the lineup for Fest 12 (tickets here). Before I start typing a bunch of band names, news today comes in that Fest will be announcing "two reunions, two legends, one [band] who has not played since Fest 3, and more," so we'll have an update again later today as well! Over the past couple weeks, Fest 12 has confirmed performances from ALL, Circle Takes The Square, Titus Andronicus, Fake Problems, Sundowner, United Nations, Hop Along, Adventures, Glocca Morra, Junior Battles, Mikey Erg, PJ Bond (full band) and more. The updated lineup (330+ bands) is in the replies.
