Tourmaline are currently recording a collaboration with DMC (of Run-DMC fame) at White Heat Studios. The band will enter the studio in October to record their follow-up to Swindle with Joe McGrath (AFI, Green Day.)
AFI have scrapped their recorded work thus-far with producer David Bottrill. They're currently recording in Los Angeles with Joe McGrath helming the soundboard (Green Day, Tourmaline, Morrissey).
The Embracers have posted an unmastered new song called "The King and Queen" on their myspace page for 48 hours only. The song is going to be on their new EP, tentatively titled Stripped, which will be out later this year. The band is currently finishing up at White Heat Recording Studios with producer Matt Rauch (Morningwood, Tourmaline, Socratic).
Tourmaline have added a unique subscription-based purchase option on their online store. For $20/year, fans get access to bonus tracks, remixes, new/old demos - sent directly to their e-mail inbox. According to the page, "sometimes you'll get one track, sometimes you'll get five, maybe you'll get a whole new record."

Butch Vig is rumored to be producing the yet-untitled, forthcoming Green Day album. Joe McGrath (whose recent work includes Tourmaline's The Swindle) is also said to be assisting in the process as well.
Tourmaline's upcoming album features vocals by Jason Gleason of Old Wives (formerly Action Reaction) on four songs and Richard Lloyd from Television playing guitar on one. The band has finished tracking and are currently mixing.

Tourmaline has posted several new Joe McGrath-produced songs on the band's myspace profile. In addition, the group will be playing a residency at the Knitting Factory in New York City each Tuesday night in November (free PBR will be served from 9-10PM). The band will begin recording their new full length in February with McGrath at White Heat Recording Studios.
