The Summer Set currently have 20 demos for their new album and hope to start recording at the end of the year. Details for a fall US tour will be announced soon.
Message from the BandThis has been the best summer of my life.

It all began when the 5 of us moved into a house in Tempe, Arizona to begin writing for album #3. We learned a lot about ourselves. As much as we love touring, it felt good to finally have a break. By day we were lounging by the pool, barbecuing, and writing songs. By night we were reuniting with old friends, drinking more than necessary, shooting pool, having Bob Seger sing-a-longs, and doing a lot of naked swimming. The most important thing is that the 5...

Brendan Kelly has written a new blog post containing vague insight about The Lawrence Arms' future.
From the postMake no mistake, in the next few weeks or months you will hear news regarding this band that will make you go “ah shit, they’re breaking up!” and “Oh man, how are they gonna still put out a record?” but ignore those stupid thoughts and remember that I told you that you would have them. We have talked through all of the awesome and exciting opportunities that are afoot here at team TLA and we still plan on delivering not only a record, but also some shows for those of you lucky enough to live in the cities in the world that we want to go to. Overall, it’s a very...

VersaEmerge is currently in the studio recording their new album with producers Shaun Lopez (Deftones, Crosses) and Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Lil Wayne).
Message from the BandWe’re currently located in Los Angeles, California in the heart of Hollywood. Sunset blvd, 34° N, 118°W, in a building at The Crossroads of The World and we have finally begun recording our second full-length album with our “Dream Team” - producers Shaun Lopez (Deftones, Crosses) and Andrew Dawson (Kayne West, Lil Wayne). We always feel at home and the most inspired in LA, so inevitably we were drawn back here to find the perfect place with the right vibes to create this record. So here we are in an old set of...

John Mayer will be taking an indefinite break from live performing as he deals with a returning vocal cord granuloma.
UpdateDuring rehearsal on Tuesday, it came to mind that I should see my throat doctor because something didn’t feel/sound right. I went in for a visit on Wednesday and a scope of my vocal cords revealed that the granuloma has grown back where it had mostly healed. This is bad news. Because of this, I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.

I want to explain this a bit more in depth than I have...

Sing It Loud's first EP before signing to Epitaph is back on iTunes with two acoustic bonus tracks. Additionally, the band has given an update regarding their future.
Message from the BandAs far as what we will be doing in 2012, we still have to figure that out. I am being completely honest here. We don’t want to stage a huge come-back and then not come through with it, but we are all talking again and bouncing ideas back and forth. This may not be the appropriate thing to talk about openly as it may confuse or bum some people out, but I really don’t give a fuck. Anyone who supports Sing It Loud deserves to know EXACTLY what’s going on with us. We are all extremely excited to...

The new Hit the Lights album is done being recorded. Nick Thompson left a lengthy update about the album and the music scene on his blog.
BlogNow why am I bringing this all up? I mean, obviously I’m making a statement like this to defend the new HTL record because it’s different, right? Not exactly. Through everything this band has been through in the past year and a half of writing new songs, I don’t think that this record in any way is NOT an HTL record. It is. But I have noticed that a lot of people make comments on how they can’t wait for a new HTL record because they need more “good pop-punk”, and honestly, that’s not what this record is. It’s not a “feel good pop-punk...

Interview"It's definitely not gonna be a Chinese Democracy situation," says Noodles, referring to that Guns N' Roses album. "It's not… you know, we're gonna finish it, we're getting close, you see the light at the end of the tunnel. You know… we're not gonna go in and scrap and re-write these songs, these songs are good. So don't worry about that."
