A purported rare testing pressing (I can't confirm if it's real a real test press or not, you'll have to trust the poster) of Brand New's Your Favorite Weapon has been put on eBay to raise money to try and save a non-profit all ages venue/art space the owner opened last May.
I think there were less than 10 test pressings of this record, it was eventually repressed a ton of times on different labels, but this is the Iodine recordings version, the real 1st pressing. This record was a gift, and I do not want to part with it, but it may be the only way to save the non profit all ages venue/art space I opened last May. I was lucky enough to book / work with Brand New before they became a...

Drew was recently featured on Vying for Vinyl's "Setting The Record Straight" to discuss vinyl.
For starters, it does seem “cool” to like vinyl, which is great for the format but bad for my wallet (prices are insane). I know for myself I love the warmer sound, I like feeling the music and art in my hands, and I do like the crazy and vibrant colors that may accompany the format. What I love about the recent resurgence is that it is getting people back into record stores and discovering new music and interacting with people with similar tastes and/or interests.

Following in the footsteps of that 3D-printed record we saw earlier this year, Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke will collaborate with vocalist Bobbie Gordon to record a single for charity that will be "pressed" onto 3D-printed records. This will happen at a pop-up shop in London this December. Check out more info here.
It hasn’t taken long, but here we are, staring down the barrel of the first ever commercially released 3D printed record. Earlier this year researcher Amanda Ghassaei sent a series of (somewhat distorted) shockwaves around the music industry when she posted instructions and prototypes of the first ever 3D printed record onto the open source blog Instructables.

In a recent article, Rick Burch of Jimmy Eat World, revealed they'll be trying to release earlier material and singles on vinyl in the near future.
Burch said the members of Jimmy Eat World are now working on re-releasing some of their early singles and albums in a different format to satisfy younger fans. Yep, Jimmy Eat World has been around long enough to have young adult fans just now discovering their sound. The format for the re-releases won’t be mp3, but vinyl LP disc. In rock and roll, everything comes around again if its coolness quotient transcends the hipness du jour. Hence Jimmy Eat World as a vinyl band for millennial listeners.
