Turns out that Urban Outfitters' claim of being the world's largest vinyl retailer isn't true, according to Billboard. Looks like it's actually Amazon, who hold roughly 12% of the U.S. market compared to UO's 8%. The Billboard article is also delightfully snarky:
The end result: Urban Outfitters is like Avis, and has to try harder. A Billboard analysis shows that Amazon is the largest seller of vinyl in the U.S., with about 12.3% market share, followed by Urban Outfitters with 8.1% market share. Rounding out the top five retail accounts selling vinyl, the next-largest is Hastings Entertainment with 2.8% of the market; Hot Topic with 2.4%; and Trans World Entertainment with 2.2%....

Urban Outfitters are now the world's biggest seller of vinyl records. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
“Music is very, very important to the Urban customer… in fact, we are the world’s number one vinyl seller,” Calvin Hollinger, the company’s chief administrative officer, said at a meeting with analysts yesterday. He explained that instead of having thousands of vinyl albums online, the company has a system in place that lets it seamlessly offer inventory from roughly 100 vendors without actually owning that inventory, a model it might use with Anthropologie’s home goods.

mewithoutYou have been forced to postpone the pre-order for Catch For Us The Foxes due to a lack of communication from Universal Music Group, who owns the masters to mwY's records. The full message from the band is in the replies.
But Tooth & Nail no longer owns the masters to our records. For whatever reason they were transferred to Universal Music Group. Once UMG had these masters in their possession they squelched all licenses. Gilead and Burnt Toast were no longer allowed to press vinyls of our records. That’s because UMG is a big label with big resources. Vinyl is no longer the niche product it once was and they don’t need smaller labels to handle manufacturing for them, making a...

A purported rare testing pressing (I can't confirm if it's real a real test press or not, you'll have to trust the poster) of Brand New's Your Favorite Weapon has been put on eBay to raise money to try and save a non-profit all ages venue/art space the owner opened last May.
I think there were less than 10 test pressings of this record, it was eventually repressed a ton of times on different labels, but this is the Iodine recordings version, the real 1st pressing. This record was a gift, and I do not want to part with it, but it may be the only way to save the non profit all ages venue/art space I opened last May. I was lucky enough to book / work with Brand New before they became a...
