Parents will be able to get into this summer's Warped Tour for free when they accompany a paid child.
This past Sunday at the Portland, OR stop, the tour announced that all Dads could get in free in honor of Father’s Day. The program, which allows one parent a complimentary ticket into the festival if they are accompanying a paid ticket was an immediate hit and tour founder, Kevin Lyman, a Dad himself, has decided it will continue for the rest of the 2013 run so all Warped fans under 18 can attend without hassle. *Patrons can pick up the ticket at the Vans tent out front.
”We’ve been noticing on our boards lots of fans without transportation,” explains tour founder Kevin Lyman....
This upcoming weekend will kick off the 19th year of the Vans Warped Tour and we know you're just as excited to be attending the punk rock summer camp as we are. Of course, one of the many dilemmas of the festival is trying to figure out which bands to see once you arrive to the festival. Fear not, AP.net reader. We've been compiling our "Warped 30" list for a while now so that you can use it as a cheat sheet on which artists you absolutely must see. So check out our picks in the replies and fret no more about the 2013 Vans Warped Tour.
Update: The chat is now over, thanks to the band for hanging out with us tonight - make sure you pick up Diamond, and check them out on the #Domo stage on this summer's Warped Tour.
The fellas from Stick To Your Guns will be here at 5:30EST/2:30PST today to chat about their current album, Diamond, as well as their spot on this summer's Warped Tour, and whatever else you'd like to chat about.
Heartsupport (an organization founded by August Burns Red vocalist Jake Luhrs) will be out on this summer's Warped Tour, but needs some help getting that support to be on the road. To find out more information, including how you can donate, click here. We will have an interview with Luhrs in the upcoming weeks regarding the brand new August Burns Red album, but Heartsupport's involvement on the tour as well.
On tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel, Warped Tour alumni Bad Rabbits performed "Can't Fool Me" and "Fall In Love", both from their brand new record, American Love. You can check out the performances in the replies.
Vans Warped Tour is returning to Australia. The team behind the Soundwave & Harvest Festivals will be the local promoter, as was announced on the big screens at the first show of the Soundwave Festival before Blink 182's set in Brisbane.
It’s going to be a 12 song album. If I could describe this record in one word, I’d say we made a “rock” album. Its right back to what everyone loves from the Underdog Alma Mater days and that’s a really big deal for our band. We’re planning to release the album the last week of June, we’re pushing for a June 24th release date.
You can check out our interview with Volumes, here. Near the end, vocalist Micheal Barr reveals the band will be a part of this year's Warped Tour.
Booked until fall. We're doing this tour, then we go home and then we have a few options in where we could do maybe a Chelsea Grin tour or maybe another tour with a band I can't say right now. And then we do Warped Tour for 30 days, which will probably lead to us doing some regional U.S. touring on the way back. We're playing Australia after that in the Fall, and after that, it's up in the air.
The Warped Tour is going to help launch a new "emotional media" site, called Vixlet. I spent a few minutes trying to figure out exactly what this is going to be, but the quotes in the article don't give much more than buzz-words. That said, I'm excited to see what comes out of it. Obviously, I believe the internet and music go well together.
