The Dillinger Escape Plan are working on their new album. The band have been holed up in various locations "including an underground lair and a house with an interior that resembles the one from fight club" writing the album and intend to release it sometime before 2009.
In the meantime, guitarist Ben Weinman and drummer Chris Pennie will be playing "pre-arranged weirdness and improv" at The Stone, a club operated by avant-garde jazz legend John Zorn, in New York City on October 20th. Pennie will also be teaching a handful of drum clinics in New Jersey and Michigan later this month.

After months of touring with the band, Justin Salter of Phoenix, AZ has been officially named as the new Scary Kids Scaring Kids drummer. Justin replaces Pete Costa, Scary Kids' original drummer, in the band. Prior to joining Scary Kids Justin worked as a recording engineer and drum tech at a sound studio in Mesa, AZ. His friendship with the band dates back to middle school. Justin has spent the past two months touring with the band (Mest, Funeral for a Friend, etc) and was recently asked to become an official member.
