Last night at Valencia's show in Boston, Shane announced that the reason the band cancelled a couple of dates on their current tour was so that he could be with his mother, who just had surgery for breast cancer. He then dedicated "Listen Up" to her during the band's encore. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Shane, his mom, and his family.

Valencia has posted dates for their tour with Houston Calls and You, Me, and Everyone We Know on their myspace.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention that Fight Fair and Meese have been added to the tour. Also, The Summer Set have dropped off Fight Fair, Meese, and You, Me and Everyone We Know have replaced them. The tour poster can be seen here.

...I am dizzy from re-typing this blog. It has erased on me twice now and my head is spinning with frustration. I suppose this is what i get for not copying/saving my progress. Apparently we scared some of you with our blog the other day, but that wasn't our intention. We just wanted to make sure everyone was paying attention today when we shared good news with you. We were alone when we started this band. We've never had sweet hookups, we sucked live for a while, and we've never been a band with a ton of cash to throw around. We've struggled everyday since this band's inception to keep things up and running. In all reality, we CAN'T afford to live like this. Only because of you have we been able to keep our heads above water all this time. We have a BIG announcement on Tuesday and with that will come a unique proposal. Check back with us on Tuesday.
