Oh man, haha I am going to be such a let down. You can be anywhere and meditate, you don't have to be in a quiet room and you certainly don't have to hold your palms upwards on your knees. You just want to clear your mind of any thoughts and just "be in the now", concentrate on your breathing, your heartbeat. If you do drift away, come back. Try to realize, understand, what made you snap back to reality. Be aware of the sounds around you. The main goal is to try to clear your mind as much as possible, and to relax. That's all I can remember right now, but there are many forms of meditation. Sitting down, walking, or doing calligraphy as a way of expressing your thoughts.
