I rented NBA 2k7 and I really, really liked it. Maybe the best NBA game I've ever played. I kept having disc unreadable problems with it, and it didn't seem that scratched, which was weird. About half my games froze.

better than being bumped back a month like last year and then having 11092209323 glitches including one that kept you from playing past the first inning for two weeks.

Well the graphics look phenomenal and the gameplay is improved, supposedly the pitching is more MVP 05 like. and its all been improved.

I never played last years...but I know from reviews and boards that it had a ton of problems that made it almost unplayable. I haven't really noticed any huge problems with the demo yet. What is it that makes it like last years in your opinion?

2k got everything right this year. the hitting system is much, much more smooth than last years game and the fielding is WAY better. the animations also help with the much need graphical facelift.

I played the demo last night. The hitting's solid, the pitching is great, the fielding is a bit questionable at times but it's good. The game looks (in terms of visuals) absolutely incredible and the animations are so sleek. I can't wait to pick it up today.

This game is terrific. Pitching is on par with MVP 05, which says a lot because their pitching interface was stellar. It's different from the MVP series but it still manages to bring the experience home perfectly. The hitting system is solid if you switch to the classic batting system, I can't adjust to the swing stick to save my life; but I'm going to keep trying it. The swing stick, if you really do grasp it completely, seems very rewarding so I'm not giving up on it completely. Fielding, thankfully, is much better than it was in the demo I played last night. Fielding a fly ball isn't a shaky roll of the dice and playing the infield is very fun.

Visually speaking, this is nothing short of astounding and is probably the best looking sports game I've ever played. It's a graphical achievement and a half, but the animations are what make the whole thing. The animations in the batters box, on the mound, in the field, they're sleek to a degree that it's nearly indistinguishable from reality, which is what I was hoping sports titles would be like on this generation of consoles. There are a couple clipping issues here and there, but there's nothing that's worth complaining about visually when it's as good as this is.

There seems to be a wealth of gameplay modes too, also with unlockables and a crib (skybox, same difference) which has always been one of my favorite features of 2k sports games. If you enjoy baseball gaming I really, really fail to see how you could not appreciate this. I nearly cried when EA lost the rights to make video games because the MVP series was incredible, but this is as good as it gets, and I don't even know if a next-gen MVP game would've topped this, to be honest. Play the demo or rent to find out for yourself, but this game turned out great.

I think I'll give the swing stick a few go-rounds in home run derby to try to get used to timing and stuff, but classic is more than likely the best way to go.

Now I just need to implement quality sliders from the kids on OS.com to tone down the home runs and amount of AI strikes thrown and this game's set in terms of gameplay.
