Roses Are Red with thorns for every season
They poke and we bleed without any reason
Our hearts are aching with innocence not sin
A hankering to be loved and love within

A Rose absorbs what we possess inside
Passing each season with beauty and pride
Witness to feelings we won't admit exist
Thriving to acquaint us with those we resist

A Rose serves it purpose for each day it lives
It berates us with beauty and helps us forgive
For those who've done wrong and bear this gift of love
