Have Nots' music video for "Used to Be" can be seen in the replies.
Formed out of the ashes of Stray Bullets and Chicago Typewriter (two Boston punk mainstays) in October 2007, Have Nots combine catchy, energetic, melodic punk rock, with rhythmic, almost hip hop-esque vocals, and a smattering of reggae/ska influence.
They self-released their debut full length, “Serf City USA” in January of 2009 and hit the road hard. With no label support and no booking agent, they performed over 150 DIY shows from coast to coast in 2009. And apparently it paid off.
Hometown shows started selling out, and kids began turning up all across the US, screaming the lyrics and raising their fists in the air. 2010 has already seen them ink a deal with PAPER AND PLASTICK RECORDS and tour the Eastern US with genre legends DROPKICK MURPHYS. They’ll hit the road again in September for some shows with SWINGIN UTTERS and a stop at RIOT FEST in Chicago, before their first UK/Europe tour in October, and a yet to be announced US tour in December.
Expect a new full length release on Paper and Plastick in early 2011. That’s when the real fun begins.
