Well I can't find a good biography on these guys, so I'm just going to go ahead and write one since I do things like this anyways. - Thomas Nassiff

Mentioning any of these things in a Titus Andronicus biography would be accurate and appropriate but also incredible lazy: Seinfeld the TV show, Bruce Springsteen's younger brother who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, early Bright Eyes-era Conor Oberst if he had a mohawk, references to Shakespeare plays, blah blah. All of these things can be found on Wikipedia.

Titus Andronicus is Eric Harm and David Robbins and Julian Veronesi and Liam Betson and Patrick Stickles and they play indie rock and roll that sounds like it was recorded in a dirty basement in New Jersey, which is where this band, like many others, is from. The Airing of Grievances came out in 2008 and sort of got Titus noticed by more people than cared about them before and then XL Recordings picked it up and made it more widely distributed in the year 2009. XL also put out Titus' most memorable material to date in the form of The Monitor LP, which sees a group of young adults playing music and singing songs that are probably about 10 miles above their head. Truth be told, the record is a shining light; a ray of hope from Heaven itself; God's second son that he only just now sent down to fuck with our minds. And like the Bible predicts, a lot of people aren't letting the second coming of Jesus into their homes. More people need to listen to The Monitor and they need to do it now.

Hyperbole has been approved by the Biography Writing Council of The United States of America of South Carolina, so the latter part of that paragraph is okay––but regardless, Titus Andronicus is spending the first quarter of 2012 writing and recording the highly anticipated LP3...the record that, for many bands, proves to be a "make or break," career-defining move. They can belly flop and get their beards soaked or they can finally kick open the door that has been waiting––the door that leads them to become "that random indie band that the mainstream fell in love with and had a high-charting single in 2012." Did you just say something, Foster the People? If "Pumped Up Kicks" can become a popular song then Titus Andronicus has the potential to write the best record ever recorded.
