Jeff Kummer is best known as the drummer of the popular indie rock band The Early November. After releasing a demo that earned a solid buzz and a strong following, The Early November signed a deal with independent label Drive-Thru Records in 2002. After collectively selling nearly 450,000 records, the band went their separate ways in the summer of 2007.
Shortly after, Kummer announced plans to record his fourth studio album with new project, Your Sweet Uncertainty. The band independently released their debut full length in December of 2007 along with a follow up EP in January of 2009. Shortly before it's release, Kummer announced his decision to leave the band.
In the following months, Kummer made known his intention to record his first solo album, Your Best Alternative. "The album is about starting over," says Kummer. "The past few years have been an adjusting period. Most of the record is about and the ups and downs that come along with it."
Ranging from pop punk to rock, Your Best Alternative is filled with contagious pop from front to back. The theme of the album ends with an uncertain sense of optimism. Your Best Alternative is a promising debut for any fan of pop music.
