This is that time of year where everything starts slowing down in the music industry and online. We'll still be keeping things updated around here through the new year -- but it'll probably be a little slower than usual. I just wanted to take a few moments to thank everyone for reading the website throughout 2013, and that we here at AP.net wish you all a happy holidays.
Tons of back and forth over the years, but once we finally made a definitive decision to move forward, it came together pretty quick. Nicky, who works at The Formatís management office in Boston played a major role in assembling all the pieces. I canít thank her enough. It was also really cool that Elektra finally let us license Interventions + Lullabies. For a couple years, the plan was just to do Dog Problems, so in a way, Iím glad it took a while so we could make the whole package that much more special.
Once you've signed into the app using a Spotify Premium account, the app lets you play your playlists, search for tracks to play, listen to a built-in radio feature, shuffle your music, stream to Shoutcast-compatible speakers, and mess around with an equalizer ó a feature Spotify's Windows app doesn't provide. The app even supports old school Winamp visualization plugins, assuming you still have them.
Last week we posted the AP.net staff "Top 30 of the year" -- soon after that Drew, Zack, and I recorded a podcast to talk about posting the list, the predictable backlash, and then talked a little about our favorites of the year and why and how we pick them. The episode can be streamed and/or downloaded in the replies.

Today I am ecstatic to premiere the full length from Speak Low If You Speak Love. The solo endeavor from Good Luck Varsity member Ryan Scott Graham, this release will more than satisfy those looking for new music in the vein of Into It Over It, City And Colour, and Daphne Loves Derby. This is going to be an artist that you'll want to keep your eye on in 2014. Make sure to listen all the way through because every track has its own unique identity. This has been on repeat for me. Head to the replies to listen to Everything But What You Need. The album comes out tomorrow.
The Word Alive have posted the first studio update for their upcoming album, to be released Spring 2014. Head to the replies to watch the video which focuses on the guitar work and features a teaser at the end of the clip.
