After posting about some vinyl preorders for The Gaslight Anthem's Handwritten and discovering a boatload of confusion about the preorder situation, I reached out to Infinite Merch to get some clarification. After I ordered the El Jefe preorder with the blue vinyl advertised (they note that they can't guarantee what color you'll get), they informed me that "The blue was put up because we were informed that the first pressing will be blue. That doesn't mean that our allotment in the second pressing won't be a color." They also confirmed that this is the official preorder from the band.
The Gaslight Anthem will perform on Live On Letterman on June 27 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. It will be a live webcast concert from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, available on CBS.com and VEVO. The band will play songs from their last three albums, as well as from their latest, Handwritten, which drops July 24 via Mercury Records.
Preorders for The Gaslight Anthem's Handwritten are popping up all over the Internet. If you head here you can check out a few options that include a CD copy of the album and an album art t-shirt. The El Jefe preorders we posted earlier are now available with a blue vinyl option.
Check out a "Making of Handwritten" video from The Gaslight Anthem, right over here, it has a few samples of three new songs in it ("Handwritten", "Here Comes My Man", and "Too Much Blood"), as well as an interview and behind the scenes look at the new album.
Looks like there will be three versions of the new The Gaslight Anthem album: the regular version, a deluxe edition (three bonus tracks), and a "super deluxe box set" version. If you're in the UK, those links will take you to pre-orders. The album will also be released on vinyl. The b-side cover of "You Got Lucky," from the single, can be heard in the replies.
