On October 22nd, Cleveland's Signals Midwest will release one of my favorite punk albums of 2013 - the stellar Light On The Lake. But before that happens, we are premiering a new song (and one of my favorites from the LP) today titled "San Anselmo" in the replies. Intricate guitar riffs are woven into the fist-pumping nature of the song, as it is a song that'll make you turn the volume up to 11. After you fall in love with this song, make sure to pre-order the record from Tiny Engines and/or pick up a digital download for $5 from Bandcamp.

Its Teeth began as a solo project for former Drop Dead, Gorgeous guitarist Jacob Belcher. For his latest effort, Divided, Belcher enlisted the help of his friend and former Periphery drummer, Travis Orbin. Although both men are known for heavier works, Its Teeth is an experimental, instrumental project best described as ambient post-rock. Check out a new song, "TDB," in the replies to hear it for yourself. You can pre-order the EP on Bandcamp.
Alex DiVincenzo on 09/30/13 - 08:58 AM

You can hear the first track, "Confluence," in the replies. Clocking in at nearly 8 minutes, the song is heavy, brooding and sludgy. Embracing elements of both post-metal and hardcore, Pray for Teeth are like a cross between Isis and Converge.

The plot continues to thicken in Vanna's 10-part video series, The Few and the Far Between: The Movie. The seventh installment is set to "A Thin Place." When we streamed a Sudden Suspension track two weeks ago, the response was overwhelming. Over 50 replies for an unsigned, unknown, young pop-punk band meant we had to make sure to give you guys a full EP stream of the band's new EP Second Place. Ever since we announced Haden Brightwell as The Company We Keep's new vocalist, we've been excited to hear results. Today we have "Control" from their upcoming full-length, Sound/No Sound (more on that later). The sound's exactly as I'd hoped - Haden's stellar vocals, molded through melodies from Motion City Soundtrack's Justin Pierre, flanked by Brian Southall's guitar/programming wizardry a la The Receiving End Of Sirens/Isles & Glaciers, and percussion via Misery Signals' Branden Morgan. Hit the replies for their music video, tour dates, and Brian's explanation of #SoundNoSound; pre-order Sound/No Sound here - the album releases October 29 via Easy Killer Records.
Jack Appleby on 09/16/13 - 09:05 AM

The sixth chapter in Vanna's ambitious 10-part video series, The Few and the Far Between: The Movie, is set to one of my favorite tracks on the record, "Please Stay." The video matches the song's intensity, as our protagonists take mushrooms and trip in the woods. The members of Vanna appear in this one, looking like they're part of Cobra Kai. Check it out in the replies.
Alex DiVincenzo on 09/13/13 - 08:25 AM
It seems like a lot of exciting new bands are emerging from the Nashville scene lately, huh? I'm delighted that we're exclusively streaming the debut EP from Illinois pop-punkers, Game Changer. A few months ago, Shane Told of Silverstein reached out to me about starting up a monthly sports column on the site. I thought why not? We have a very strong sports forum and a lot of our users are very knowledgable about various sports. Now that his band just wrapped up its stint on this past summer's Warped Tour, Shane sent me his inaugural AP.net sports column, which you can read in the replies. It's not often that sports and this scene crossover, but in this month's column Shane discusses how musicians and athletes cheat to get ahead.

We've got a really great exclusive for you guys today. You might not recognize the name Dave Hill right now, but with all the pots he has his hands in, you will soon. Bearing a multi-hyphenate title that would rival James Franco's, Hill is a published author (of a collection of essays entitled Tasteful Nudes), stand-up comedian, podcaster, host of a monthly live variety show, and also frontman for the power-pop group Valley Lodge. The group is gearing up to release their third album, Use Your Weapons, next Tuesday, but we're happy to be streaming the entire record a few days early. Filled to the brim with massive hooks and infectious vocals, this record is right up the alley of anybody...

Listen to "Just Because" in the replies and you can pre-order the EP here.
