1) I would probably like this a lot more if the production didn't remind me of that piece of shit Destroy Rebuild Until God Touchesmywang craptastic band. Shame on you John Feldmann.
2) As much as I'm not a fan of the new chord progressions they've been messing around with on the last few records, I gotta say that Jeph Howard is still one of the most exciting bassists in the 'scene'.
So overall, John Feldmann needs to stop producing, and this band needs to change its name to Jeph Howard & the Used.
Yeah they did man, I'm content with losing- Some Will Seek, and DTGL are spectacular. Underoath, like the Used, are done.
I will have to agree with you on that one. Although I really enjoyed their last effort, Underoath will never be as successful without Aaron. Not necessarily because he was holding the band together, but more because the vocal dynamic is what made so many people latch onto the band in the first place. Now that it's gone, it just sounds like a better-ish version of every other heavy band out there. Just an opinion.
ugh. this is a perfect example of why feldmann ruins bands. imagine this song with clean production, no effects and the instruments actually sounding like instruments... it has the potential to be a good song definitely. the chorus is great. they need to go back to being raw. the bridge is actually not bad and the production works there... but the verses should have been kept raw for sure. still have hope for this album
I liked their debut back in the day and still somewhat enjoy it due to nostalgia. But this is just bad. Feldmann as of late has turned everything he touches in to crap. The term "overproduced" is thrown around a lot but this definitely is a case of overproduction, it doesn't even sound like real instruments are being played.
Yeah, it's a bit different, but every one of the used's albums has sounded different than the last, and i dont think in a bad way. This song is extremely infectious. Yeah... it's a bit dubsteb-ish, but Bert's vocals, especially on the chorus really blend with it well. I really liked it all of it, but everything from the slow bridge on was by far my favorite. really finished off the song well.
