Yes he is, but that aside, he is quite talented. Just made out to be way better than he realistically is.. Compared to some of the other great rock drummers out there, he's nowhere near the best.

Depends what you mean.

As far as chops go he is among the best. In terms of feel I would say he isn't the greatest and as far as stage presence goes easily one of the best.

He's also written some very innovative and inspirational drum parts over his career. Set the bar for all Pop-Punk drummers to come.

I always compare him to Buddy Rich, as far as drummers are concerned. He doesn't do crazy time signatures, but he's so fast and solid. Plus, when he was playing one handed he was still a beast...

I'm no drummer, but that's just my two cents.

Besides the drummer from Yellowcard, I cannot think of a single drummer who comes close to Travis Barker in the genre.
