I pushed back the album sales round-up a few days so I could see if I could get some more sales numbers to include (didn't get much, sorry). Mumford & Sons' Babel remains at the top spot with 63,000 copies sold. Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox hits number two with 48,000 and Josh Groban was just behind at number three (41,000). Overall album sales totaled 5.46 million units, down 20% compared with the sum last week and down 13% compared with the comparable sales week of 2012. Year to date album sales stand at 44.58 million, down 7% compared to the same total at this point last year.
Wow, Tegan & Sara sales have fallen pretty hard... That's disappointing.
Interesting to see that post-Grammy sales have had zero effect on Gotye. Would've thought his wins would increase his sales. Doesn't seem to have helped at all.

I imagine it might increase the single sales. It frustrates me to no end that no one gives him a chance besides that one song. Making Mirrors is so great (and "Better" could've been such a huge hit as well).

Yeah, I love that song. I think the album was hit or miss for me, but definitely some real strong songs on there. I love Giving me a Chance, as well.
It's kind of mind boggling that The Lumineers have sold so much over only one crossover hit... I thought I read that their album already went platinum? That's crazy. Guess the whole arena folk thing going on right now has helped them out a lot. Good for them, though.
And I agree with the post a few above, Gotye definitely should have released "I Feel Better" as a single... or if he already did, then there's no reason it shouldn't have been huge.
