there is no reason these two bands should be playing venues this large.

Why not? Both are still gigantic and have a huge fan base. This tour will sell at least 90% at every venue.

The Goo Goo Dolls did a club tour last spring and it barely sold out in most markets. I'm not saying either band is bad (I enjoy both) but I've worked in the ticket industry for the last decade and can pretty confidently say that if this tour is priced the way I think it will be priced (ie: too high), I don't see these shows selling out across the board.

I could be wrong. I've been wrong before, but something a little smaller might be more comfortable.

Then again, MB20 had that big radio hit last year that was catchy, so who the fuck knows. Audiences for 90's bands are always unpredictable.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Matchbox 20 might still sell, but Goo Goo Dolls are far from being huge.

Goo Goo Dolls play amphitheaters every summer and sell out a lot of dates. This is an amphitheater and small arena tour. I think they would be ok if they were by themselves.

Tickets aren't that bad. Orchestra tickets for the venue by me (PNC Bank Arts Center) are 60, mid level is 40 and lawn is around 20. Now, compare that with Victoria Justice who's most expensive ticket is around 120 dollars and this tour is priced just right. Matchbox Twenty did a good sized room about 20 minutes from me 2 weeks ago. Most expensive ticket was 95 dollars. They sold out back to back dates. I mean both bands are still very popular in the adult contemporary genre. This will be a successful tour..I can pretty much guarantee that.
