PropertyOfZack has a Friday Discussion today about the first CDs their staff members purchased. In case you were wondering, Zack Zarrillo first spent his money on Michelle Branch's The Spirit Room. Reveal the first album you purchased in the replies and reminisce upon a time when the $18 compact disc was the norm.
I grew up with plenty of rock and roll CDs laying around my house, but N SYNC's No Strings Attached stands out as something that we were very excited to get a hold of when it came out. I remember asking my mom to buy me Red Hot Chili Peppers' Californication and Green Day's Nimrod at the mall. I'm not sure I can remember the first one I purchased with my own money. I used to buy a lot of CDs every week in high school.
Before that, I bought Siren Song of The Counter Culture for my sister's birthday, and on the same day I bought TTTYG for myself, I bought my sister Dusk and Summer for her birthday (on the day it came out)
