The Acacia Strain Part Ways with Guitarist

Posted by - 04:56 PM on 05/20/13
The Acacia Strain have parted ways with guitarist/songwriter Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz.
Well, if you havent noticed, i havent played a show with the acacia strain in years and ive just been writing the music for them. Ive been informed today that they will continue on without me, meaning shows and writing albums. This is totally understandable and i wish the band the best. I'll be around, as im still recording and producing and also have another project in the works.

Why hasn't this guy been playing shows? I feel like they would sound a lot better live with a second guitarist.

I'm pretty sure they tour with 2 or 3 these days? They used to have 3, I know that much. He moved over to a purely studio role awhile back so that he could focus on his production career.

DL knew how to write some sludgy-ass metal/hardcore riffs, that's for sure. I wonder if they'll maintain that signature.

Family reasons if I remember right.

^ He had a kid so he stopped touring with them. He's been the primary songwriter for the past four albums so I wonder how this will affect their sound.

They had Tony from State Champs playing live for a minute. Devin (former Oceano) is now a permanent 2nd guitarist I believe.

Oh no, The Emmure Strain lost one its guitarist. They'll sound exactly the same with the replacement.

I guess you don't really feel like you're part of a band if you're referring to them in the third person.

Probably, but TAS are a whole hell of a lot better than Emmure.
