ABSOLUTExclusive: Ellesmere

Posted by - 07:23 AM on 11/25/13
Although it's late into November, you're going to want to roll down the windows and sing along to "Forty Five" from Vancouver's Ellesmere. Taking cues from many 90's So-Cal skate punk bands (If you were old enough to remember), the band plays its brand of pop-punk reminiscent of NOFX and others that would have been staples on Warped Tour. Their EP Bail City comes out Dec. 10th on Dying Scene Records. Listen to "Forty Five" in the replies and leave your thoughts.

I feel l like this is a Blik-182 b-side from the "Take off you pants" era. I dig it.

I get the blink-182 influence HARD. Sadly, I fear too many blink elitists could write this off too quick

Dying Scene is a joke, and Dying Scene Records is just taking that joke too far. The website looks as bad or worse than GeoCities circa 2002 and the label has bands that range from mediocre to laughable. This is awful.

Yeah, this is not good. I don't know, I just don't want to hear another band that tries so heavily to ape NOFX and Blink 182. I like those bands and bands that have been influenced by them but it's been done a gajillion times by bands that were better. And wtf the photoshop or whatever on that artwork looks terrible.

I'd rather listen to '45' by Shinedown.

Kidding, of course. Probably.
