I'm indifferent to either, but the Zune Pass is what keeps me locked into my Zune. Just can't beat that deal without actually just stealing all the songs.
If itunes ever did something similar . . . . I'd prob jump ship in a heartbeat. Will definately keep and eye out on this new device.
Chuck: Do we carry any Rush CD's?
Morgan: No, but not to worry buddy! I have every Rush track on my Zune.
Chuck: Wait, you have a Zune!?
Morgan: Pfft! No, I'll go get my iPod.
The only thing the Zune has on iPods is the Zune Pass. I've never looked into it, but I would imagine it wouldn't even have a lot of obscure stuff on the Zune Pass.
I don't get all the hate for the Zune. The original Zune was a piece of shit, but I've had the Zune 80 for a while and I really like it. I'm getting close to the point where I need to get something with a larger hard drive, so i'll wait and see what this Zune HD is all about, but as someone else said, its not even worth getting if it holds less than 120GB. Also, I have yet to find myself in a situation where i can use the wireless song transfer on the Zune.
Ya know, I actually have a Zune that I was given as a gift, and I like it. It's a pretty legit little music player. Though I will admit that the Zune software for the computer is horrid compared to iTunes, I enjoy my little red Zune.... (And constantly get mocked by all the other guys in my band for doing so....)
Here's to hoping there isn't a world-wide failure of this new model like the last one came with.
I have the last one & it was fine... the problem was with the old crummy 1st generation 30-giggers. I'll stick w/ my 120. Plus touch screen doesn't work too well in the car.
people are so enamored by Apple thinking its the shit (and it is shit) that they will never expand out to try a zune. I bought a zune, and will refuse to ever own an iPod ever again.
