For all of you saying EVO 4G FANBOI etc here's a question to you: do you still also carry an iPod with you wherever you go? (this being a music site and all)

And there you go. Regardless of the fact that I like the iPhone hardware/software, I got so fucking tired of carrying around a Motorola Q AND an iPod Classic all the time that getting an iPhone just made sense.

Haha me too, I'll be in line the morning it gets released. Getting the white version for sure.

people that like the EVO it has absolutely great features but doesn't have the UI of apple which makes it for me. also I have found Sprint Service to suck majorly esp in my area. not to say ATT is great either but everyone i know that has sprint has dropped calls and poor reception all the time.

I waited in line to buy an Evo for my girlfriend for her birthday. She loves it. She switched from an iPhone 3G. So far coverage isn't the best, but we're giving Sprint a little time to work out the kinks with their new phone. We used 4G in the car yesterday and the speed is phenomenal. I was able to get 2288 kbps download speeds. It feels like WiFi while you're surfing.

I think people still carry around iPods simply because of their capacity. I still have the classic 80 GB brick which does the trick as a portable hard drive as well as a music player. The Evo can support microSD cards up to 32 GB, so it's only a matter of time before people start using their phones instead of their iPods.

Of course, it's unlikely that Apple will support expandable memory in the iPhone 4, so their users will be stuck with whatever they pay for upfront.

Be careful about the EVO...I was looking forward to getting it for months, then Sprint pulls this crap about your plan. I'm currently on a family plan with them, have been for ten years. We pretty much have the best possible plan you can have (2 lines, 900 shared minutes, unlimited data / text), and now they want to start charging us out the ass to upgrade.

There's a $10 service charge for the 4G network, understandable to exploit some extra money out of people, but you will be payign this fee whether you're covered under 4G or not. That one was fine by me (even though I'm on the outskirts of Chicago's 4G, so coverage would be iffy). Then the killer came...my plan is legacied, meaning the options are no longer offered. In order to upgrade to the EVO, I need to get on one of the "UNLIMITED" plans...meaning I need to spend at least $70 a month to jump on the family plan. This plan would actually offer me less minutes (450) and nothing else new.

Beware of the EVO, Sprint will bend you over and shove it up your ass before you can get one. I'm holding out for more companies to put out 4G (or WiMax, whatever they will call it) before I pick one up.
