Yeah, the songs that I wasn't feeling have grown on me very quickly. Coffee and Cigarettes is still an "eh" song but it's obviously not bad at all.

The whole album really is fantastic. The second half especially blows my mind.

Coffee would be better without all the vocal overdubs.

There isn't anything I'd change about Futures, save perhaps the placement of Nothingwrong in the sequencing. And I might have been ok if Lying Dressed had made the record, too.
Same here, exactly. I can't figure out where I'd rather place Nothingwrong, but whenever I'm feeling like hearing some slower JEW songs and I start listening to Futures at Polaris, I always end up forgetting about Nothingwrong, and it always scares the shit out of me when it comes on. Polaris, Night Drive and 23 would hands down be the best string of songs to close out any JEW album if Nothingwrong wasn't stuck in there.

You could say the same about Action Needs An Audience being near the end of this album.

I don't know where I'd put it either, that's the problem. I don't think it's a bad song at all (though it's easily my least favorite off Futures), I just don't think it really fits the record that well. I feel like it would be jarring almost anywhere on the record. I think Invented now takes the title of best string of songs to close one of their albums with the Cut-Mixtape stretch, even if none of the songs are as strong as 23.

I don't think it's quite as jarring. It fits reasonably well before they start to really slow things down on the final two tracks.

I'm not sure why I disagree, but I do. For some reason, it seems to fit a lot better than Nothingwrong did.

THIS. I think I've made this exact statement several times before on AP.

I love Nothingwrong, but I think it shouldve been switched with Kill in the tracklisting.

I'm pretty sure Cut is going to end up being my favorite song on the album. Love almost everything though.

Favorites at this particular point in time are Littlething and Invented. But that could/will change.
