Strange, I listened to this album today for the first time in months as well, with the same reaction. As much as Bon Iver is still a fall/winter band for me, "Towers" and "Calgary" are for sure spring/summer jams.

I've always gotten a late summer night vibe from a lot of these songs, especially the bookends.

Also, are there still people who don't like "Beth/Rest"?

Every time p4k mentions Justin Verson, they take a jab at it. The live EP. The Shouting Matches. Both reviews take a poke at it.

For Emma is definitely a Winter/Autumn album, but the lush instrumentation and soundscapes of Bon Iver, Bon Iver definitely makes it feel like a late Spring/early Summer album to me.

It's like, every time I listen to this album I start going through my iTunes and looking for something similar. And I can never find anything, haha. I liked For Emma a lot, but this is on a different level.
Haha, I do this too. It's so good and I never know what to listen to after. Also "Beth/Rest" is amazing.

This album reminds me a wee bit of Poses by Rufus Wainwright, so if you're looking for something similar, maybe give that a go.

Yeah, on "Perth" I half expect to hear crickets in the distance. Nothing wintery about that song.

When you're driving in the middle of the night and the guitar solo comes in on "Beth/Rest"? Fucking immaculate.

you should really listen to Talk Talk, Peter Gabriel or Calexico.

i like this album as much as the next guy, but its a mite overrated. and nowhere near as revolutionary as it was toted when released.

although "Beth/Rest" is a great pop song.

Listen to this album every single night before I sleep. And sometimes in the car and at other times during the day. It's the best

Yeah, dude. The beginning of that song is ridiculously groovy. And they do it so well live, too -- it's insane.

I don't think anyone really thought it was "revolutionary." Just insanely well-crafted.
