Good shit. I was very surprised by this, as I couldn't get into Under The Boards or most of Sound The Alarm. It's like a progressive In Reverie, and I can dig that.
Definitely a very solid album and Daybreak may be the most difficult song this band has made. TBC will always be my #1 and In Reverie was just a beautifully underrated album. With that said Daybreak is the most cohesive and mature album to date. I like it alot but it wont trump TBC for me...
Have a lot of people here not heard anything beyond the trilogy?
I enjoyed Can't Slow Down and Through Being Cool to an extent but I always enjoyed their later stuff better. Till now Stay What You Are was my favorite and it may still be but Daybreak is something else. I really feel the lyrics in this album are something I can get into personally. The rest of the trilogy had its gems but felt a tad crazy. I think Daybreak may tie or be my personal new favorite STD record.
Also I liked In reverie it just did not click with me as much as other stuff. Was not drawn in. Might re-listen at another time but right now we have something new to enjoy.
This album killed my expectations. Thought it was gonna be good but not this good! Love it. The opening trakc and closing track alone are two of the best STD songs ever imo.
For me SWYA>Daybreak>TBC still don't know how to categorize the rest from there out.
