Whilst I can see why it happens, I'm really not a huge fan of how as soon as a band becomes remotely big and has 3 or 4 albums their setlists seem to get stuck in ruts.
I'd love to see just a greater general willingness in bands to play wider, more experimental setlists- especially when headlining.
To me being curious and then pleasantly surprised at a band's setlist is one of the exciting and fun things about going to gigs in the first place. Sure sometimes you might here a niche song you're not a fan of but it would so be worth it for those times when a band played your favourite song ever, from somewhere hidden deep in their back catalogue- something which basically doesn't happen anymore...
Sorry, rant over! It's just this setlist seems almost identical in song choices to what they played when they were last in the UK at Wembley and I was definitely hoping for at least some variation this time round.
