No More Blur or Gorillaz?

Posted by: Kyle Huntington (04/10/12)
In a recent interview with The Guardian Damon Albarn spoke about how the forthcoming Hyde Park concert should be Blur's last and that the revival of Gorillaz is highly unlikely.
From The Interview"I find it very easy to record with Graham (Coxon)," Albarn said. "He's a daily musician. With the other two, it's harder for them to reconnect It's fine when we play live: it's really magical still. But actually recording new stuff, and swapping musical influences it's quite difficult."

Hasn't he said both of these projects were probably done for good a bunch of times before?

Why so?

Not for many years, especially with the recent new material, studio time, awards, gig announcements etc. being talked about it was thought that Blur may end up recording an album together again, Albarn had also said previously he thought they had one last one in them, but I guess it didn't pan out as planned once they actually attempted it as this article goes into a bit. As for Gorillaz, this seems a personal confirmation of a fall out between him and creator Jamie Hewlett.

He's already got Dr. Dee and Rocket Juice and the Moon on the go as well.

Well he's had problems with Jaime Hewlett with Gorillaz and problems with Graham Coxon. I just think that with him being the common factor, there's a problem with Damon.

Glad I saw Gorillaz when I did. But I'm a little bummed about the end of things, I'll have to check out his other projects though.

Gorillaz have been in my top 5 bands for the last 10 years. Their debut album was amazing as was Demon Days. Wasnt too thrilled with the direction of Plastic Beach, but it still wasnt bad. Glad I atleast got to see them twice. Would kill for a new album. But honestly it takes them about 4 or 5 years to put one out any ways so heres to having my fingers crossed for Spring 2014
