honestly, I feel absolutely terrible for him, because I can't even imagine how painful the procedures will be, and they aren't going to be able to give him shit for it. he's too much of a liability to give anything thats as strong as needed, and whatever he does get he probably has a sky high tolerance for.

That really sucks though, cancer is brutal whether you make it through it or not it is a constant uphill battle and even when you "beat it" it can come back down the road. Good luck to him fighting it.

Dafuq made it seem like you didn't to me and yeah making jokes about someone fighting 2 battles isn't cool but people will be idiots.

For a second let's consider all the recent actions that may have been led on by this. Perhaps it isn't an excuse to the people close to him, though. Wish all the best to him and everyone involved.

While in the hospital, they will treat him regardless of his addiction past. They will even account for his tolerance in their dosing of his pain medications. As for take home meds, that is where he is out of luck. Though, I'm sure he will be provided with strong non-narcotic pain meds such as Toradol.
