Obama also deported more illegals than Bush ever did and is now granting amnesty to migrant workers
It's not a defense of Obama to point out he's a politician, because I'm not a big fan of politicians. But dude was a huge stoner back in the day and very obviously is waiting til it won't hurt him politically to say "hey, legalize the shit"....either that or waiting for Joe Biden to slip up and say it first.
How is this not a defense for someone who wants him to support legalization? Its the "he's a politician" defense. I'm not saying you're not making a point, and it is a clever point to make, I'm just saying I don't buy it, and its a bit of a dangerous defense to accept.
voter: I may not vote for Obama because of his global human rights record, with the excessive increase in drone strikes, plus the execution of citizens without trial.
obama supporter: He is probably just waiting for the right time to end drone strikes, and denounce the execution of citizens without trial. Look at his recent gay rights and immigration turn arounds.
Between this and "he would have done it but its the republicans fault" Obama can basically be free of criticism.
Also, relevant to the thread, I could never vote libertarian because I have no faith in the free market, where they seem to have all out faith. I think most social problems go hand in hand with the problems of the free market.
