I wish they would've put out a new record instead; these same songs sound very similar production wise to their self produced debut so I don't really see the point. I actually prefer the original Anna Sun to the newer one but that song should still be blowing up more than it is IMO.
Anyway, lookin forward to seeing them next week.
I can kind of agree with the lack of "new" songs, but the production quality on the new album is way better than I Want! I Want!
. "Quesadilla" and "Iscariot" have definitely been improved upon; the former kind of sounded like a Vampire Weekend ripoff before and the latter was beautifully improvised-sounding, yet kind of ill-fitting compared to the rest of the record's upbeatness. Both songs sound way more focused and a lot more like a band trying to make a name for themselves while still making accessible indie pop.
Can't wait to see them on Monday and I'm really going to love playing this in the car all summer.
