I really enjoy the new direction and the album is amazing, but I don't think this style could hold up for two albums in a row without sounding stale. Hopefully their next release is somewhat of a blend of Renacer and their previous work, like how Architects combined Hollow Crown and The Here and Now on Daybreaker.
It's definitely a solid album though, stoked to see these songs live on their spring tour!
After getting my preorder over the weekend and listening to it a bunch of times I can that this is their best album if not second best album they've had. I love the change they made and the direction they're headed. Hopefully they can add more songs like "Between the Mountains and the Sea" on future releases.
I'm really happy for them. I think it's great that this album is getting such a good reception.
Anyway, I've been a fan since From the Depths of Dreams and I just can't get into this release... Buddy's screaming is better than ever (I might even say it is extraordinary), but his clean vocals doesn't sound good at all. Too much effects, probably to fit their heavier sound.
I would've loved to enjoy it.
