Not to nitpick on them doing a good thing, but wouldn't they make more money for charity by playing at larger venues and selling tickets for more money?
I think the main point of this particular tour is to see one of the biggest bands in Canada play a cheap, intimate show, which is something that band hasn't really done in 10 years. I still feel really bummed I was 5 years too young when Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Spitalfield and Death From Above (before the 1979) played a smaller bar in Winnipeg. All the times I've seen BT in an arena since then will never
compare to that night back in September 2003.
So yeah. I think the fact that they're giving the money to charity is more of an afterthought than anything else.
