Linkin Park To Release "The Hunting Party" in June

Posted by - 11:57 AM on 04/10/14
Linkin Park will release The Hunting Party on June 17th. Artwork can be found in the replies, and an interview with Mike Shinoda can be read on Vice.
Thereís so much music out there; thereís so much stuff that sounds like Haim or CHVRCHES or Vampire Weekend that Iím full. The thing Iím hungry for is not that. I turn on the rock station in L.A. and it sounds like Disney commercial music. And Iím confused by that. The dude from Foster the People was literally a jingle writer. No disrespect, but for me to make that stuff was kind of out of the question.

I enjoy Haim, but their live performances make me feel uncomfortable.

I'd gladly take Vampire Weekend and Foster the People over Linkin Park any day.

It's not like they're reinventing the wheel. Honestly, I can' stand them anymore, they were my favorite band in the early 2000s... now they're just way too preachy and soft. I bought tickets to LP/30/AFI in August. ...10 years ago I would have bought them for LP... this time I bought them for 30 and AFI.

I found this to be a promising read though.

Just curious why their live show makes you uncomfortable? I haven't personally seen them but judging from Youtube, they seem really fun live.

Their facial expressions when they are singing. I don't know. It's just odd.

i think LP's recent heavy electronics/less guitar albums are awful, so ironically enough, the man's got a point. rock radio is so electro/indie/pop/etc compared to ~10 years ago, and i'm stoked for them to take it back

Isn't LP practically making Disney commercial music these days? It sounds like what he was talking about could be applied to his own band.

That statement coming from him is the most assbackwards, contradictory thing of all time.
