I live on the east coast, and go to school at the University of Missouri, so I find myself traveling a lot, for long periods of time (more on me down below, if you care). The songs below are a sampling of the much, much, MUCH longer playlist that I listen to on my travels (it physically hurt me to leave "Born to Run" off of this one). Some songs mention traveling in the lyrics, others just give off a vibe that makes me feel like going off on an adventure. I would advise anyone who enjoys this playlist to listen to all of the albums these songs come from, as they are all great to listen to on the open road or when staring out on the Earth from 5,000 miles high. The list itself is pretty eclectic, starting off with a few relaxed songs before hitting the Menzingers-ETID combo of the list's climax. It then rides a string of choice southern rock cuts before finishing with "The Backseat" (*tears well in eyes*) and "Take Me Home" (*sobbing*). Also, I'd recommend listening to this through headphones, for maximum effect.

1. "Just Like Heaven" - The Cure
2. "Don't Mean A Thing" - St. Paul and the Broken Bones
3. "Family Business" - Kanye West
4. "Permanent Tourists" - The Graduate
5. "Somewhere Only We Know" - Keane
6. "If You Believe Me" - Relient K
7. "Time Tables" - The Menzingers
8. "Wanderlust" - Every Time I Die
9. "The Bucket" - Kings of Leon
10. "Day Drunk" - Buch Walker and the Black Widows
11. "State I'm In" - NEEDTOBREATHE
12. "Omaha" - Counting Crows
13. "The Backseat" - The Gaslight Anthem
14. "Take Me Home" - Phil Collins

My name is Ryan. I was a lurker for a while before joining in June 2010. As I said above, I attend the University of Missouri, majoring in Journalism (News Reporting). I listen to a ton of different genres, and I don't know if I could pick a favorite or one that I listen to more than others. Some of my favorite artists off the top of my head (besides the ones on this list, all of which I adore): The Civil Wars, Danny Brown, The 1975, Acceptance, Third Eye Blind, The Killers, Frightened Rabbit, Paramore, K-Dot, Outkast, and Ginuwine. Yes, that Ginuwine.

Shameless plug: follow me on Twitter for music, news articles, and lots and lots of bad puns/sports tweets, mainly about the Orioles, Capitals, Redskins, and Mizzou.

I made this playlist solely based on favorite tracks that were released this year so far. There's no underlying genre or theme. There's an assortment of styles from flamenco rumba to progressive metal.
.

I'm really loving this playlist. Some of the tracks really wash over you. It's relaxing. Good job.

Edit: Then it gets super kickass at the end lol.

I've never been myself but I know quite a few people who have and they say it's a blast. Might try and search out a ticket this year, the lineup is incredible.

I am going away to college. That is the inspiration behind this playlist to put it simply. The first four tracks try and encompass this last real summer of being home with all my childhood friends before it shifts into a section starting with Modern Baseball's "Re-Do" to show how, hopefully, this September is a fresh start with all new expectations and aspirations. The mix also touches on the general themes of leaving home, the world changing all around me, and the desire to be successful and make the best of the opportunities being given to me.

1. "Help Save The Youth Of America From Exploding" - Less Than Jake
2. "Summer, Man" - Taking Back Sunday
3. "An Ode To The Nite Ratz Club" - The Hotel Year (now known as the Hotelier)
4. "Damnit" - blink-182
5. "Re-Do" - Modern Baseball
6. "Miles Davis & The Cool" - The Gaslight Anthem
7. "Like We Did (Windows Down)" - The Maine
8. "The Sound Of Young America" - Fireworks
9. "Stay Gold, Ponyboy" - The Get Up Kids
10. "The Vast Spoils Of America (From the Badlands Through the Ocean" - Saves The Day
11. "That Green Gentleman [Things Have Changed]" - Panic! At The Disco
12. "Big Casino" - Jimmy Eat World
13. "Don't Die In Yr Hometown" - Antarctigo Vespucci
14. "Southern Air" - Yellowcard
15. "I Just Want To Sell Out My Funeral" - The Wonder Years
16. "Landing Feet First" - Bayside

Hi, my name is Morgan and I signed up for AP late in 2013 but I've been reading since about 2011. I try to listen to a variety of bands, but my all time favorites are Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Saves the Day, and blink-182. I'm going to be studying journalism at the University of Missouri in the fall and hope to have a legitimate career covering music. I currently write for Continuum Magazine and also average listening to Home, Like NoPlace Is There at least twice a day. You can reach me on twitter at sMORGasb0rd13 and read my articles for Continuum Magazine at continuummagazine.net!

"Girls to the Front"

Spotify: Girls to the Front (AP)
Rdio: http://rd.io/x/Rl4vlVcv8XrR/

Sometimes this scene can feel like a boys-only club, so I wanted to make a playlist to remind myself and other women that there are plenty of great female-fronted bands. There are a bunch of different kinds of bands in this playlist, and believe it or not, not all of the female vocalists sound like Hayley Williams of Paramore. Girls to the front!

1. "Secret Surprise" - Joanna Gruesome
2. "Keep" - Pity Sex
3. "Wifi Beach" - Johnny Foreigner
4. "American Horror" - Speedy Ortiz
5. "I Feel So Sure" - Adventures
6. "Vacation" - Crying
7. "Damaged Goods" - Cerce (Spotify only)
8. "Mistress Appears at Funeral" - Self Defense Family
9. "Asleep" - Makthaverskan
10. "Lindsey" - Little Big League
11. "Standing Alone - Isolation" - Vales
12. "Liars//Trudge" - Code Orange Kids
13. "Trouble Found Me" - Hop Along
14. "Crashing" - Swearin'
15. "Rebel Girl" - Bikini Kill

My name is Hayley, and I joined AP mid-2013. I live in southern Kentucky and graduated from Western Kentucky University in December 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Sexuality Studies. I listen to mostly punk and hardcore, but I'm all for some good hip-hop. Some of my favorite artists: Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Touche Amore, Ceremony, Code Orange, Fireworks, and O'Brother. I attend shows in Nashville when I can, I like photography, and I'm always adding to my record collection.

"The Last 10 Years"

Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/user/thetone...l9kxOlDHFm8YTK
Rdio: http://rd.io/x/Rl4wt7Uv98UU/

This playlist is a hell of a journey for me. It is essentially the soundtrack to the last 10 years of my life and it not surprising that each song is lifted from my favourite album from each of those years. I can associate countless feelings and memories with each of the songs present here and it captures everything that I adore about music and how it leaves an unforgettable imprint on my life.

It begins with hope and excitement for the future with "Road to Joy" as I begin University life and meet the girl that I am still with to this day. Those feelings of optimism diminish in the coming years with the pressures of academic success and homesickness perfectly captured with "Mouth" and "Pale Blue Dot". A turning point occurs with "Burial On The Presidio Banks", a song of pure beauty that descends into complete and utter devastation. The song (and album) changes my outlook on instrumental music and becomes the motivating force behind what was the toughest year of my life so far. "Porcelain" compliments the overwhelming feeling of everything around me beginning to break, as the year involves a testing distance between myself and my girlfriend and the challenges of writing something as intensely personal as my thesis.

"Weak4" symbolises the freedom from the shackles of academic life, as I kickstart my career and find myself able to afford a social life, which offers a perfect distraction to the distance separating myself and my girlfriend. "King Park" is quite simply in there because the song is fucking incredible and is the only song that can claim to repeatedly turn my stomach as the climax completes a horrific and visceral story. "National Anthem" and "Seasonal" embrace the feelings of contentment and everything coming together as I take a year to travel the world with my long-term girlfriend, which leads to the greatest decision of our lives in us moving in and truly starting a life together.

We then come to the present day with "Dendron", a song that is based on the subject of loss, an inevitability of everyone's life that I truly hope to avoid this year. However, much like the inevitability of loss is the inevitability of the condition of my Aunt, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease (aka ALS). I could lose her this year. I could lose her next year. The only certainty is that she is suffering and will continue to suffer, and that hurts so much more as she feels as though she has already lost her life. "Dendron" cuts deep for a lot of people on this website, but The Hotelier have crafted a song that provides infinite comfort to me, as it seems to understand and place an invisible arm around my shoulder. I can only hope it offers the same comfort to other people.

1. "Road to Joy" - Bright Eyes
2. "Mouth" - Fear Before the March of Flames
3. "Pale Blue Dot" - The Receiving End of Sirens
4. "Burial On The Presidio Banks" - This Will Destroy You
5. "Porcelain" - Sleeping At Last
6. "Weak4" - 65daysofstatic
7. "King Park" - La Dispute
8. "National Anthem" - The Gaslight Anthem
9. "Seasonal" - Moving Mountains
10. "Dendron" - The Hotelier

My name is Richard Toner and I live in London, England. I've been a member of AP.net since 2005, which ties in perfectly with the beginning of the story that this playlist tells of the last 10 years of my life. AP.net has been shaping my musical tastes ever since I signed up. I am eternally grateful to the staff of AP.net for introducing me to bands such as The Receiving End of Sirens, The New Frontiers, La Dispute and more recently, The Hotelier. I don't often post or comment on here, but I'm always reading and always appreciating the output of the incredible community that AP.net has built up.

If you enjoy the playlist then feel free to give me a follow on Spotify. I create monthly mixtape-style playlists that features a good mix of post-rock and a lot of the bands covered on the website. I'm also on last.fm. Cheers for reading / listening.

"A Night Walk"

This is a playlist of songs I would listen to mostly while walking back to my dorm from my girlfriend's apartment at the University we attend. Maybe we had the best night in the world, or maybe we got into a bad fight, but regardless of the circumstances, these songs were always there to accompany on my walk back (usually in the late night/early morning hours). The collection is mostly comprised of softer indie (or, in some cases, emo) music both old and new, with most instrumentation truly reflecting the "introspective, nighttime" vibe.

http://www.rdio.com/people/AaronMook.../A_Night_Walk/
http://open.spotify.com/user/1247499...WXtXtl2kG9FuTK

1. Bon Iver - "Flume"
2. Alt-J - "Something Good"
3. Death Cab for Cutie - "Sleep Spent"
4. The Cure - "In Your House"
5. Mansions - "Curacao Blue"
6. Ryan Adams - "Come Pick Me Up"
7. Elliott Smith - "Speed Trials"
8. City & Colour - "Hello, I'm in Delaware"
9. Dashboard Confessional - "A Plain Morning"
10. Jimmy Eat World - "Tables for Glasses"
11. Mimicking Birds - "Home and Somewhere Else"
12. The National - "This is the Last Time"
13. Sigur Ros - "Svefn-g-englar"

My name is Aaron Mook. My favorite artists include (but are not limited to) Say Anything, Brand New, Modest Mouse, Manchester Orchestra, Explosions in the Sky, Hum, Title Fight, and the Wonder Years. I've been contributing album reviews for about two years now to websites like Absolutepunk and Funeral Sounds before finally creating my own website, Fastest Kid in School, with AP.net staffer Zac Djamoos. FKIS is now doing better than ever, reaching our highest numbers yet and hiring eleven staff members (including a tech guy!), but it's a constant work in progress. I currently attend Gannon University in Erie, PA for Journalism-Communications and am a DJ on last year's #1 college radio station in the country, 90.5 WERG. I am also head of the Gannon Paranormal Society (come at me bro).
