I just can't get into this band. I've tried on numerous occasions because my friend loves them. Yet, I always end up bored

That's a shame; I still think Turn on the Bright Lights is one of the best records of this decade. Their two records after that one were less consistent, although "Narc" remains my favorite song.

Yes. I still am jealous of those people who have the copy with "Specialist" on it.

No I agree. Antics was nice stuff. Like I said previously, "Narc" is just heavenly. Don't like how I now associate "Slow Hands" with that Armani commerical, though. But definitely a solid follow-up.

Oh and how stupid was it not to include "Mind Over Time" on Our Love to Admire? Song is amazing. Check it if you haven't heard:

Ah the obligatory Joy Division post in an Interpol thread. Any moron can tell how indebted they are to JD (one of my favorite bands by the way--definitely like them a whole lot more than these guys), so why even mention it. Besides you could not be cliche and namedrop Echo and the Bunnymen. Unlike a band such as Norma Jean, Interpol has more to offer than just transparent derivation.

Well actually...I was worried about sounding cliche, I've never heard Echo and the Bunnymen, and Norma Jean has everything to do with this.

...Let's let the "obligatory Joy Division post" AND the "obligatory reaction to said post" slide.
