| | | | | | | | | | | | It's been quite a long weekend. It's been quite an amazing one as well. Head to the replies to check out reviews of Saturday's Fun Fun Fun Fest where user Dustin Harkins and I finally got to see Refused destroy our senses for an hour. You can view photos from the weekend over on our Facebook page. Our reviews of Sunday will be up tomorrow. | | | Adam Pfleider on 11/05/12 - 03:24 PM | 5 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | 2012 is coming to a close, and I never thought I would see At the Drive-In's first reunion in over a decade. This weekend I will be seeing Refused's second to last U.S. show at the seventh annual Fun Fun Fun Fest. With the demise of three of my favorite bands this past year (Thursday, Thrice, RX Bandits), it seems ten years later I'm closing an important volume of understanding what punk rock really is. In honor of all of this, I've put together a special feature on the band's seminal record, The Shape of Punk to Come.
Four years ago I started working on a book which chronicles the "post-hardcore" scene from The Shape of Punk to Come to We Are the Romans to Worship and Tribute to... | | | Adam Pfleider on 10/31/12 - 07:07 AM | 31 Replies -

| | | | | | | | | | | | As we posted a couple days ago, Refused played a secret garage show in Brooklyn to 100 people right after selling out the 3,000-capacity Terminal 5 in New York City on Sunday. A good friend of the program, Daytrader vocalist Tym (he doesn't have a last name, deal with it), managed to catch both shows. Want to know what it was like? Check the replies to read about his thoughts on Refused's reunion and the legendary double-header of shows Sunday. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 04/25/12 - 07:08 AM | 30 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | Due to circumstances beyond their control, Refused will not be playing tomorrow night on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show. They have been rescheduled to appear sometime in July. | | | Drew Beringer on 04/22/12 - 11:03 AM | 25 Replies - | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | In light of yesterday's news of reunions by both At the Drive In and Refused (as well as many reunions to date), I've given some thought to seeing the past moments we cherish being played out in the present. After reading this, hit the replies and let us know your favorite moment that no reunion could ever recreate. Was it in a basement? Was it with less than 50 people? Did the performance floor you, and at that moment, did you know that particular band would be something special years later? | | | Adam Pfleider on 01/10/12 - 07:34 AM | 100 Replies - | | | | |

He weights in on bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Attack Attack!, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk and many more. | | | Thomas Nassiff on 11/29/11 - 10:09 AM | 319 Replies -

| | | | | | | | | | | | Aesthetically, no one wants to ever be told what to expect. If a sound is so far off course from the norm, sometimes we don't even retain what just hit us right away. Like any sort of genre-defying move, the ideas eventually get regurgitated and overly run into the ground, or the ideas stem from earlier ground that never surfaced and took notice on a major level first. Refused has written their history with their 1998 album, The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimercial Bombination in 12 Bursts. It was an album inspired by an inner circle of friends and musicians in Sweden who were constantly trying to out do each other creatively. Only two years before, the band released Songs to Fan the... | | | Adam Pfleider on 03/31/10 - 09:14 AM | 51 Replies - | | | | |
