Blink-182 has posted various images on its Instagram page related to the song titles and colors of the band's 2003 record. What do you think it means - possible ten year tour? A special edition release on CD or vinyl? In our recent interview with Mark Hoppus, he sort of, kind of teased something regarding 10 year anniversaries.

Update: It looks like the band may be making announcement tomorrow at 7:30 on KROQ.
AP.net: One of the big trends in music in these days, especially among bands that have been around as long as you have, is doing these special anniversary tours or anniversary re-releases of albums. Would you ever consider doing a re-release of an album or playing an album...

Our interview with Mark Hoppus can be found here.
Iíve never cared when people thought we were just a joke band. We always have just done our thing and written what we like and what was important to us. Luckily, people have stood by us. I feel like the people that marginalized Blink back in the day have now seen that we actually have staying power, and itís kind of a good feeling.

I had the opportunity to talk with Mark Hoppus this week and he had the following to say about the next Blink-182 record. Check back Monday for the full interview.
It seemed Neighborhoods was a pretty natural progression from the Untitled record, even though it was eight years later, and then I know some of Tomís Angels & Airwaves influences were in there as well. Do you see the next record going in that direction, continuing that stuff, or do you see it veering off and doing something completely different?

For me, personally, obviously we still have to get into the studio and hash everything out, but I want to push it edgier. I want to push it a little faster, a little harder. I...

In a new Q&A with Blink-182, the band talk about meeting with labels and thinking about producers for their next album -- which they hope to have out next year.
This whole tour, this whole experience is about getting ready for that next record. We've been meeting with labels, we've been talking about producers, trying to figure out internally what the plan is for Blink. We're not against it. If it's the right label and the right partnership and the right vibe or we could do it ourselves or use a distributor. There are so many options for bands now.

A video interview with Blink-182 where they discuss their 9/11 benefit show can be found on MTV.
"We just want to put on a show, hopefully bring some joy and happiness and perhaps some release," he told MTV News. "It's a pretty awful day, so we think people could benefit from a Blink show."

Read my review of Blink-182's recent show in Uncasville, CT with Taking Back Sunday, Four Year Strong and New Beat Fund. All of my photos can be found here.
It's a shame, for fans' sake, that this isn't a longer tour, as the strong line-up fits well together, but I'm happy to have been able to see it. Here's to hoping we don't have to wait another two years before Blink 182 tours the country again, because they remain one of the most fun live shows.

According to NME, Blink-182 will be releasing a new album in the late spring/early summer of 2014. Mark Hoppus recently talked to Kerrang! and noted that the band is hoping to head into the studio at the start of next year and hopefully release the new LP shortly after.
"We haven't thought about any new songs yet," said Hoppus, but explained that the band will write the new album when they reconvene in the studio. "It always happens when the three of us are together in a room," said Hoppus of writing. "Because when [we're not touring], Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, so we don't really talk all that much. But then when we get in a room...

Cracked has posted four reasons Tom DeLonge was abducted by aliens.
I'll go one step further and say that Tom DeLonge is Klaatu, albeit the charming and likeable one from the 1951 original and not the Keanu Reeves corpse-eyed mandroid from the 2008 remake.

Well, there was certainly some drama last night: Travis Barker (Blink 182) and AJ Maddah (promoter for Soundwave, which Barker is not playing) really had it out on Twitter. A lot of accusations were thrown around, by both sides, before they finally got on the phone and declared it was a "huge" misunderstanding. The post that started it all was an instagram from Travis to his fans apologizing for missing the Australian tour.

Travis Barker will be sitting out Blink-182's upcoming Australian tour due to his fear of flying. Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion will be filling in.
The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash in 2008, would be a challenge, but we wanted to play for our fans in Australia nonetheless. The three of us tried all measures to get us all there in full form. Travis has been working to overcome his fear of flying. Since we now know we have to make the trip without Travis our friend Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped...

Fender has posted up their picks for "top 10 most instantly recognizable guitar riffs" -- pretty hard to argue with most of these, but what would you add? While not anywhere near the classic status of all the songs on this list, I'd say Blink-182's "Dammit" has one of those riffs.
