In the words of another legendary British musician, stop me, stop me, stop me if you've heard this one before...Damon Albarn recently announced while on stage in Hong Kong that Blur will soon be returning to the studio to work on a new record. Let's hope it ends up better than the last time they tried that.
Noel Gallagher is curating next year's Teenage Cancer Trust shows which take place in London's Royal Albert Hall. Not only does the line up include Ryan Adams, Kasabian and Primal Scream but the former Oasis member will be playing live supported by Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon of Blur, who he hopes to collaborate with on stage.
Blur will release a five disc live album later this year titled Parklive. This special hardback book-bound edition will feature full live recordings from their recent 100 Club warm up show, their Olympics Closing Ceremony gig at Hyde Park in London on CD and DVD, a 60 page set of exclusive and rare photographs and many more rarities. Last night Blur started their live return with two sessions for the BBC. The band played new and old tracks including the first ever live performance of "Caramel" from 13 and rare airings of b-sides. Blur has confirmed that they will debut their new double a-side single "The Puritan"/"Under The Westway" live from a London rooftop on Twitter on July 2nd. It looks like Blur are set to premiere new material on July 2nd at 7:15pm (GMT). Their official Twitter page posted this a few hours ago as well as a a picture, which can be seen in the replies, of some lyrics which are taken from a song Damon Albarn recently played live titled "The Puritan".

In a recent interview with The Guardian Damon Albarn spoke about how the forthcoming Hyde Park concert should be Blur's last and that the revival of Gorillaz is highly unlikely.
Blur will headline the "2012 Olympics' Closing Celebration Ceremony Concert" in London this year. They will be joined by New Order and The Specials at the show which is being billed as a "Best Of British" event.

According to producer William Orbit's recenttweets, Blur may well be back in the studio and working on a new album. Orbit produced 13, the group's last album before guitarist Graham Coxon left the band.
Blur will reunite to play the 2012 BRIT Awards next month but have also revealed to the NME that they are starting to think about recording together again too.

Blur will receive the "Outstanding Contribution To Music Award" at the 2012 Brit Awards. The band's bassist, Alex James, has also hinted at the band getting together over Christmas to start recording new material.
