Dave Melillo (ex-Cute Is What We Aim For) will be playing guitar with Anarbor on their upcoming tour.
StatementSo, one night I was watching the Mission Impossible Quadrilogy and enjoying a night cap when Mike from Anarbor hit me up asking if I'd be interested in playing guitar for them. My immediate response was a resounding: "hell yes sir". My history with the band goes back to the days before Slade picked up bass duties for the band ... We were introduced to each other by a mutual homie and I always admired the music created by these dudes. I happily volunteered to make an appearance during Anarbor's set on the Take Action Tour back in 09 and I'm super mega extra stoked to be able to...

UpdateI was inspired by Katy Perry actually. Homegirl had a solo career under her real name “Kate Hudson” which went absolutely no where. She changed her name to Katy Perry and WHAM ! … Top 40 singles all over the place, celebrity boyfriend and hottest person in the world according to Maxim magazine

Melillo is tough to say. I’ve noticed that ever since I began talking to telemarketers at a young age. In the music business you need something that’s memorable and slightly chic. Therefore, I’m taking up a new moniker D. Blaaq …

I don’t expect anyone to except it right away. A name change has to be...

Dave Melillo has talked about his departure from Cute is What We Aim For in an interview you can read here.
From the InterviewAt the beginning of July Mikey, Jeff, some family friends, and I sat down with Shaant. We told him the things he needed to change as far as attitude and demeanor goes. I want to make it known that I shut him out of my life after that. He needed to be on his own if he was going to do anything positive for himself. There was not a visible change in his attitude or work ethic when I got back to Buffalo, so I decided to live my own life.

Dave Melillo has officially joined Cute is What We Aim For.
Message from the BandOn behalf of us, we couldn’t be happier or more encouraged by the reaction to ‘Doctor’ and ‘Practice Makes Perfect.’ We’ve been pretty anxious to get back on the radar so to speak for the last 6 months. I won’t say much now about how much we think you are going to like this since we believe everyone can develop their own opinion without our biased feelings, here it goes:

I think you are all in for some surprises with this record. First off, Dave Melillo, our long time friend and tour mate has officially joined the band. With that being said we would also like to wish Fred the best with his new band and...

Nate Mullins is no longer playing drums for Dave Melillo.
StatementThis is probably my most serious blog yet, I think. This is my formal (not sure how formal you can even consider MySpace) announcement that I am no longer playing drums with Dave Melillo. To all the fans I met while on tour with Dave, you are what kept me in the band for as long as I was. I will miss seeing you all at the shows. Why the split, you may ask? It is a long, detailed story that if asked in private, like AIM (again, loose use of the term private), I might tell. Readers Digest version is that the project was not satisfying my wants creatively or financially. Money is not the world, and if I deem what I...
