A recent interview with Bill Stevenson hints at new Descendents around this time next year.
We did start working on new material, a new recording, but even with that, it's not like it's going to be finished next month. It'll take us several months to get it all together. I'd like to think that around this time next year, we could have a new record out. We demoed a lot of stuff and recorded some stuff. Karl [Alvarez] and I have my studio, and we have my Pro Tools little small thing at my house, and Milo [Aukerman] has a Pro Tools rig in his basement, and Stephen [Egerton] has his studio where he lives, so we pass files around," Stevenson says.

What happened when Milo went to college? Check out this great profile on the Descendents frontman.
Despite the unconventional shifting that he does between the worlds of molecular biology and punk rock, Aukerman says he’s never suffered "any kind of fallout." Fellow scientists, he says, "are very interested in someone who’s not just stuck at the lab bench all day and who can actually go out and do something completely different, something wacky and bizarre." Likewise, for peers in punk rock, "even if they don't really understand what I do necessarily, it's so different to them that it becomes more of a facet that can be fascinating," he says. Even Aukerman’s parents have come around to...

Communities Digital News conducted a great interview with Bill Stevenson. He mentions that the Descendents are working on a new album and that it's a priority for the band in the next few months. There's currently no plans for any new ALL recordings though.
We started on it. We’re not really far into it, but we’re making it a priority to kind of focus on it in the coming months.

Descendents coffee is up for pre-order. All is right in the world.
We sought out a small, local coffee roaster in Fort Collins, sampled coffees from around the world, then roasted, cupped, and re-roasted until we felt it epitomized what we have been singing about for all of these years. Ultra dark, robust, and of course, eccentric. Sourced from a family farm, Finca Candelaria, located in the Candelaria region of Guatemala made famous in 1974 for its expansive underground cave system that spans over 80km. As far as the coffee goes, the high altitude and rich volcanic soil create the environment to grow very dense coffee beans- meaning that they are chocked full of complex flavors but...

Two years ago, Devo had to cancel their headlining performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest due to injury and only weeks before the festival. It was announced that Descendents would be reuniting for the first time in about a decade to fill the spot, and as someone who was there, it was a blast. Our friends at Light and Noise TV were there to capture the whole thing, including the encore where Rise Against's Tim Mcllrath joined the band for "Bikeage." In case you haven't been able to see one of the one-offs, head to the replies to watch the full set. The seventh annual Fun Fun Fun Fest happens next weekend, and tickets are still available here.

An interview with Stephen Egerton (Descendents, All) can be seen here.
QuoteWhen I grew up, I found myself more and more attracted to vocal melodies. I was getting more and more into that. I was trying to explore vocal melodies. "How about having more singing?" I've always been exploring that in my music. I headed more into that direction. I wanted to write more around the idea of a vocal melody. That's the hardest part for me since I'm not much of a lyricist. I had these vocal melodies all the time in my head. What I'm hearing in my head now is a music totality based in a melody.
