Beyoncé saw the release of two remixes to her single "Drunk In Love" today. One was by Detail, who released a seven minute version of unused vocals and production from when he worked on the original version called "Drunken Love;" the other was by Kanye West, who extends the track and throws in a verse of his own. Hear the Detail remix in the replies.

George Zimmerman, the infamously acquitted killer of Trayvon Martin, is looking for boxing opponents and rappers Game or DMX have both applied to fight him. Apparently, Zimmerman also wants to fight Kanye West for "beating up defenseless people." The irony is choking me.

Head over to Complex to read an interview they did with Young Thug where he reveals that he has recorded some songs with Kanye West and is planning a collaborative mixtape with Chief Keef.
"I mean, I went to his house and we did a couple of songs. The fact that I was [making songs] so fast amazed him too, because he doesn’t see a lot of people who rap like that. I don’t really rap with a lot of people [because] everyone raps the same way. When I first heard he wanted to know who I was and do songs, I was smiling ear to ear like a clown."

TMZ is reporting that Kanye West has settled the suit with the man he allegedly punched in a chiropractor's office.
Law enforcement sources tell us ... the D.A. has not decided whether to charge Kanye with battery. The reality is ... there's almost no chance of that happening. First, the D.A. now has an uncooperative victim. Second, the victim's alleged racial epithets will not sit well with the jury. And there are probably lots of Kanye fans in the jury pool

Steve McQueen recently interviewed Kanye West in Interview Magazine.
As my grandfather would say, "Life is a performance." I'm giving all that I have in this life. I'm opening up my notebook and I'm saying everything in there out loud. A lot of people are very sacred with their ideas, and there is something to protecting yourself in that way, but there's also something to idea sharing, or being the person who makes the mistake in public so people can study that.

Reports are coming in that Kanye West punched a racist-epithet-hurling 18-year-old in a chiropractor's office earlier today.
Kim Kardashian was visiting a Beverly Hills medical facility earlier today, and she had to get through a scrum of paparazzi to get there. According to the story, an 18-year-old bystander approached Kim and said, "Fuck these fa**ot-ass n****rs." When Kim told him not to use this particular term, the guy responded, "Fuck you, bitch. Just trying to help you. Shut up, n****r lover, stupid slut." When Kanye arrived, he and Kim went into the office — a chiropractor’s office, it turns out — where Kim had scene [sic] the guy enter after his outburst. The story says that...

A group of hackers have announced that a new Kanye West-themed cryptocurrency called Coinye West will launch on January 11th.
The effort may be nothing more than an elaborate joke, but launching a cryptocurrency is actually relatively easy since the Bitcoin source code is public. Many serious and half-serious clones have launched, but Coinye and the meme-cenric Dogecoin are getting a lot more attention than Litecoin, Namecoin, and other virtual currencies that attempt to improve upon Bitcoin.

Annie Clark (St. Vincent) recently reviewed Arcade Fire's latest album, Reflektor, for The Talkhouse - the same site that featured the late Lou Reed raving over Yeezus and Ezra Koenig's (Vampire Weekend) goofy take on Nothing Was The Same.
The Arcade Fire have released an album that elucidates our constant psychic vacillation between uber-connection and utter disconnection. They ask you to be aware of your fractured attention span/psyche/in touch with your humanity. Arcade Fire so mercifully avoid the Nuremberg-rock cliches ("Hey!") in favor of sleaze, anxiety, and pathos that you can dance to.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are suing the leaker of their engagement video, who, it turns out, was Chad Hurley (one of the co-founders of YouTube).
The couple's lawsuit states Chad Hurley wasn't invited to the elaborate Oct. 21 proposal at San Francisco's AT&T Park, but was allowed to stay because he signed an agreement not to post any video or images from the event. West allowed other cameras to film the event for possible broadcast on E! Entertainment Television, home to his fiancee's show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," according to the suit.

Kanye West's Yeezus tour continues to be plagued by equipment issues, this time due a crash en route to Vancouver involving one of the tour's equipment trucks. According to Kanye's publicist the accident damaged the tour's "custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen" so badly that the gear is "beyond repair." As a result, last night's Vancouver show was postponed as well as the shows scheduled for Denver and Minneapolis. There is no word yet as to whether more dates of the tour will be affected.

Even if you're a fan of his music, it's easy to write off Kanye West's numerous public rants this year--whether at his concerts, another artist's listening party, or via Twitter--as mere publicity stunts, aimless babbling, or whatever. But if you read between the lines and actually think about the topics he's been bringing up during the Yeezus album cycle--including in his music--and especially if you paid attention to his interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, it's increasingly obviously that writing Kanye's rants off as such is in fact a lazy misrepresentation of what he's been trying to do.

Further proof of this emerged last night when Kanye sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to clear the...
